Argent Data Radio Shield

Can you make the LibAPRS libray work with the Argent radio shield?  I am new to electronics and programming and I can't figure out how to send a complete packet from the arduino using the radio shield.  I have the arduino producing the output that I want and I can send this data in a plain text packet but I can't get the GPS coordinates and APRS symbol to transmit from the Arduino.  With the GPS connected to serial port B on the shield it transmits an automatic packet fine but I can't include the data from the Arduino in that packet.

Thanks,

Bill

Re: Argent Data Radio Shield

I think the Argent Radioshield has a different approach. They do the coding/decoding in dedicated hardware. The micromodem does this in the arduino itself. That makes it at least difficult to use the argent datashield with the libaprs-library.

Re: Argent Data Radio Shield

That's what I was afraid of.  I was hoping that I could assemble the data in the arduino and pass that to the radio shield and the shield would just included it in the information field.  But it appears that the automatic and manual funtions of the shield can't be combined.  Also, I don't think you can create a raw packet and just have the shield transmit.

Thanks,

Re: Argent Data Radio Shield

I think your solution is just to look into the Argent radio shield library ...

Have u tried this library ? It was written for the Argent radio shield

A few of us are using the MicroAPRS Library, Modified by DB1NTO
