The new MicroModem PCB Layout

I'll start this subforum off with a visualisation of the (hopefully) final PCB layout for the new MicroModem. I have ordered a prototype run from the PCB fab, and if these are good, they will be the final version smile Fingers crossed!

As you can see, there is the Analog input/output and PTT connections in the lower right corner, but this board also has UART serial (RXD + TXD) broken out for easy connections, as well as I2C and SPI pins (these can also be used as general digital IO pins from Arduino!). I added also a direct PTT pin on the port, so you can access the PTT signal directly, instead of only throught the MOSFET smile

(by the way, I used the PCB visualiser from Mayhew labs: http://mayhewlabs.com/webGerber/ )

Re: The new MicroModem PCB Layout

Hi Mark,

do you have also an updated schematics for the new MicroModem? How much current can the  3V3 connector provide?

Re: The new MicroModem PCB Layout

Ah, today I found a lot of Information in the "Shop" page for the new MicroModem. So max current for 3V3V is 50mA and the mapping of the connectors to Arduino pin is also described there :-)

Re: The new MicroModem PCB Layout

Yes, exactly! The schematic is also now available on the project page, both in PDF and Eagle format. It's a little messy right now, sorry for that, but it will have to do until I get time to redo it to be more beautiful wink

You should also have a look at the manual for the modem here: http://unsigned.io/wp-content/uploads/2 … Manual.pdf
The pin mappings and everything is listed there as well! Sorry you didn't get one in the package with the modem, but I hadn't finished writing it when I send out your modem wink

Re: The new MicroModem PCB Layout

Hi Mark,

thanks - Schematics and Manual are perfect for me. Silvio DO1SIL asked me to write a guest post about the MicroModem in German for his Blog http://www.hamspirit.de. So this is very usefull information for me and I think it is beautiful enough. I have seen much uglier schematics ;-)

Wish you a happy New Year!
