#1 General discussion » KISS with LCD @LibAPRS » 2015-12-19 20:42:27

Hello there,

Is there any intention to add KISS on LibAPRS?
Maybe then will be easier to modify it to what I'm trying to achieve:

A KISS TNC with LCD (20X4, OLED, Nokia screen) showing the packets incoming and out-coming,
along with time-stamp, bearing, distance, full-path, etc.

I run an I-Gate (5B4ALR) using WRT54GS-V2, openWRT + APRS4R,  TT4 + LCD, and I want to "release" TT4.
Ideally a Nano with KISS + LCD, and a DORJI DRA818V all in WRT54GS!

Is it possible for KISS and LCD to coexist?

Thanks in advance,

Ok, I will try it again. Maybe this change on LibAPRS and the way I used to by-pass it, caused the problem!
Did you change other things on LibAPRS?
Do you know if there is a way to use LibAPRS for Kiss?

There must be something I don't understand. On lines 268, 269, says the same thing. And IDE says: " 'APRS_sendStat' was not declared in this scope" . I changed it with 'APRS_sendMsg' and I uploaded it. Shows only GPS info. No incoming packets. Any suggestions?
Thanks, and thank you for your contribution to the.... sport!

#4 Software & Programming » MicroAprs in KISS with extra debug serial » 2015-08-30 16:43:53

Hi to all!
Congratulations to Mark for the excellent job!
Also to some others, for their contribution to APRS, using simple and cheap Arduino boards!

I operate a live tracking system for a volunteer rescue team.
I have already operated the MicroAprs in KISS mode, using an Arduino Nano.
On the PC side, I use windows XP with UI-View32 successfully!

I would like though to have an extra serial port, mainly to be able to watch all the raw traffic
as second option. This could be done also, by using SVTrackR or DB4NTO project, getting advantage from the OLED screen!
I guess that KISS maybe already have a debug port that is deactivated.

The BIG problem is that programming isn't my universe. I can barely follow a program written in IDE, but not to produce one, I don't have the basic theory for that...
I don't even know how to compile something from the repo's! I can only deal the pre-compiled images, or what is for IDE.

So, ANY help would be much appreciated!

Thanks for your time, and the effort on that big area!
